1. Information Collected or Received

myPolicy will not sell or disclose your name, email address or other personal information to third parties without your explicit consent, except as specified in this policy.

As a myPolicy member you are required to provide a valid email address at registration.

Depending on which services you choose to use, myPolicy may require additional information, such as financial information (including annual income, annual expenditure and insurance policies information), and/or personal health information. As an advisor, myPolicy may require information such as your representative number, mailing address and/or telephone number in order to verify your identity and provide this service to you.

You may optionally choose to provide your full name and other personal information (such as birthday, gender, location) to be publicly displayed in connection to your account and activity.

Your username, or name is publicly displayed and connected to your myPolicy activity. Other people may see your profile information and insurance policies information in mobile application.

myPolicy automatically receives and records some information from your browser when you visit the Sites, such as your IP address, cookies and data about which pages you visit on the site through the use of log files provided by our third-party tracking-utility partners. This information helps us analyze and understand how the site works for members and visitors.

myPolicy uses the information described in this policy to provide and improve our services and products, for billing, for identification and authentication purposes, to contact members or interested parties, and for general research and aggregate reporting.

myPolicy's Terms of Service require all account owners to be at least 18 years of age (or have the permission and supervision of a responsible parent or legal guardian), therefore, this policy does not discuss use of our site or services by minors.

Some messages from myPolicy are service-related and required for members. Examples of service-related messages include, but are not limited to: a welcome/confirmation email when you register your account, notification of offers or sales, or correspondence with myPolicy's support team. myPolicy follows generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once myPolicy receives it. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

9. Data Retention

myPolicy will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If you no longer want myPolicy to use your information to provide you services, you may close your account. Following account deactivation, public information such as your username, public bio, items listed, public comments, favourites and follows will be removed. Private communication between users such as chats and offers made are not information that is specific to your account alone. As such, these are not part of your account and will not be deleted upon account deactivation.

We will retain personal data in accordance with the Privacy Laws and/or other applicable laws. That is, we will destroy or anonymise your personal data as soon as it is reasonable to assume that (i) the purpose for which that personal data was collected is no longer being served by the retention of such personal data; (ii) retention is no longer necessary for any legal or business purposes. If you cease using the Sites, or your permission to use the Sites and/or the Services is terminated, we may continue storing, using and/or disclosing your personal data in accordance with this Privacy Policy and our obligations under the Privacy Laws. In such cases, your request must be accompanied by a letter from an official law enforcement body, such as the Courts or Police Force, or any other relevant legal body which myPolicy is required to comply with.
